I delve into the concept of the human body. Working with dissecting our very own structures and the things that make us living, breathing human bodies. Looking beneath our outer appearance we see fibers, flesh, muscle and bones; I capture these parts to show the world what we look like beneath the flesh that holds us together. Because, before you were black or white, german or jewish, blue eyes or brown, we began in the beginning with the same skeletal structures and that is what makes us human.
The medium I use is the traditional, pen on paper, relating back to my concept of us all starting out the same. After the sketch, I redraw the image digitally and manipulate it, through layering and colouring because as humans we grow into identities and colours but I want to remind people that beneath that is a simple sketch of the human body.
