Ramotoana Richard Mokgomme was born in Limpopo in a village named Indermark where he was also raided. Also a self-taught artist, Richard as popularly called was inspired to pursue art as a profession during his early primary school days. He participated in various art competitions which sparked his passion for creative work. In 2002, Richard was awarded a diploma certificate in visual art after coming first in the Malebeho East Art Competition.
In 2009, Richard relocated to Gauteng Province where he is now situated. In 2017, he participated in a group exhibition with Art Afrique Gallery in Maboneng and in the same year, he was part of an Australian competition Candeed Cue spring contest where he was a finalist.
Richard also participated in Sasol new signature and in September, he was part of Thami Mnyele art competition at Spring Art Gallery. Later that year, he was part of a group exhibition at 22 On Sloane Bryanston for Global Business Entrepreneurship and he obtained bronze and silver STAEDLER ambassador ward. Recently in 2018, he was awarded the GOLD STAEDLER ambassador prize.
